Evaporator Pressure Regulating Valves

Evaporator Pressure Regulating Valves (EPR valves) are designed to provide an accurate and economical means of balancing system capacity with demand for thermal load during periods of low loading, and maintaining different evaporator temperatures (pressures) in systems with multiple evaporators at different temperatures.

These valves control the temperature of the evaporator indirectly by controlling the evaporator pressure. As the thermal load of the evaporator increases the valve opens by raising the inlet pressure above the valve setting pressure to provide greater flow capacity to meet the thermal load. When the evaporator thermal load decreases, the valve closes and modulates to maintain the valve pressure setting.
