Desiccant Wheel Dehumidifier
This is a dehumidifier that uses a wheel made of silica, which is known as a desiccant wheel and does not require the use of the refrigeration cycle.
The wheel material traps the water particles in the process air and then discharges them with the use of hot air to the outside, the wheel simply rotates transporting the water from the process air to the drying air and “regenerates”, i.e., regains its ability to trap the water at each turn.
These systems are much more expensive in initial investment and have application ranges for low temperatures, such as in cold chambers.
